Okay all, this is the blog post I have been DYING to have the time to write about since it was definitely the best moment of my life. So, no need for any more of an introduction…let’s get down to it!

Alex and I had be planning a trip to Prague together for over a month before my birthday weekend and we were both so excited for when he finally arrived! I took my bags to school on the day my flight was so I could hop in a cab and go directly to the airport. I ended up upgrading to first class for my layover flight in Paris because my layover was so short and my seat was at the very back of the plane initially. Not going to lie, first class is AMAZING, the food (and free wine) was amazing and I wouldn’t mind being forced into that situation again…at all. I eventually arrived in Prague, took a cab and met Alex at the Marriott in Old Town, Prague. We got situated, had dinner and drinks and slept so we could start at a decent time the following morning! The next day, we woke up, had breakfast and go together to take off on Alex’s plan for the day (Prague is one of his favorite cities so he knew it quite well)! We saw the Power Tower, Old Town, Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, Lennon Wall, Prague Castle, and Saint Nicolas’ Cathedral – just to name a few places! We also looked around a bunch of shops and have started an ornament collection for our Christmas tree when we are both together in the US. We later had dinner at the Hard Rock (I was REALLY craving American food) and then we went for drinks and stayed up until my birthday at midnight. The whole day was really great and I loved just walking around, exploring, and most of all just being with him in a really beautiful place.

On my birthday which was the following day, we took our time getting up, ate breakfast and then Alex and I went to my hair and make-up appointment since Alex planned a photo shoot for us! The appointment went incredibly well (Thanks Bara at Beauty Bar by Bara K) and I felt so beautiful and happy. We then went to meet with the photographer, Kate from KatesPhotography, and we walked around, taking pictures at all of the beautiful spots we saw the day before and just being ourselves. After an hour or so, we were near Prague Castle in a garden overlooking all of Prague and the view was breath-taking, but what happened next took my breath away. Alex took my hands, got down on one knee and asked me the most special and precious question anyone could ask – “Will you marry me?”! I had absolutely no doubt and of course said “yes”! The ring was absolutely beautiful and perfect fitting for me – black diamonds and a rose gold setting and band. It is completely unique and special and I found out that he looked through HUNDREDS of ring settings to find the one he picked which makes it even more special! We then took more pictures with my new ring and our new relationship status and after the shoot we took a taxi back to the Marriott. As if the day couldn’t be more perfect, I came back to 24 of the most BEAUTIFUL red long stem roses I have ever seen as well as champagne and chocolates. He even bought us personalized champagne glasses with our names and a cute saying! To make it even better, we were both so hungry after not eating for most of the day, we got room service cheeseburgers to accompany our champagne. I was in HEAVEN especially since the love of my life and my new fiancĂ©. Later on, I found out Alex had also made dinner reservations so we also went to this beautiful restaurant facing Charles Bridge on the river (yes, we had two dinners hehe). Then, he did the most sentimental thing and bought for us the same kind of champagne that he bought for me on the 21st birthday. [Alex and I met in Portuguese class during my junior year and I invited him to my 21st birthday party. He had feelings for me then but I had no idea that he did! He bought me a really nice bottle of champagne but didn’t ask to drink it with me and since I had no clue about his feelings for me, I didn’t drink it with him. So, having the chance to drink this champagne with him now was so special for the both of us – especially now that we are engaged!]  It was a more that perfect end to an unbelievably perfect day!

I couldn’t ask for a more perfect man, person, best friend, confidant, and future husband to share the rest of my life with. He keeps me sane, makes me incredibly happy, and loves me unconditionally. Although our time together as a couple has been short, he has brought me more happiness and joy in our short time together than I could ever dream of. I can only hope to bring you the same joy and make you feel as loved as you make me feel. So, I love you, Alex, and I’m so thankful, blessed and happy to live our lives together!
